ABOUT ABOUT

Dragon Kim Foundation Family,

Dragon Talks is a curated space designed to help us come together to listen, learn, and grow around topics where knowing how to engage can be difficult. Join us April 9th from 3-5pm for Dragon Talks: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion as we journey together in a conversation on DEI through understanding what they mean and how they look with the help of our special panel of community leaders Valencia Castellanos, Kevin Mo-Wong, and Karin Zaldana-Moran. We will learn through a presentation, hear from our panel about their experience around DEI, have a time for Q & A, and will make space to discover how to put what we have learned into practice.

Valencia is a higher education professional based out of Riverside, providing career counseling to adult learners. She has a background in student development and aims to apply an equity lens in her work. In her free time, she enjoys quality time with family and her church community.

Kev and his friends started Solidarity, a faith-based non-profit equipping Latino immigrant families from under-resourced neighborhoods for community transformation in Fullerton, CA. In 2018, he took over as Executive Director and is moving the organization to develop neighborhood leaders to affect equity within the city. Kev currently lives in the Garnet neighborhood with his wife (Crystal), two young children (Kai & Liana), and their dog (Kona).

Karin is a local Cal State Fullerton graduate who majored in art and minored in psychology. He has lived in his neighborhood for 27 years and now teaches art at Our Tribe Our Village - a childcare center. He is pursuing a Masters in Marriage & Family Therapy in hopes of becoming an Art Therapist.
